We are a group of Republicans who work to involve women in the cause of good government through active participation in the Republican Party. We promote the party’s principles, its platform, and its candidates. We work for the election of Republican Party nominees at all levels of government. We lobby for legislation on various issues. We give back to the community through our Caring for America projects. We participate in and support the South Carolina Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women.
The Capital City Republican Women, founded in February 1993, is made up of women from all walks of life, including elected officials, business owners, educators, and retirees who are joined by a common purpose.
- CCRW Club Objectives are:

We are members of the South Carolina Federation of Republican Women, founded in 1961. Today the SCFRW is vibrant and productive. It is made up of more than 1100 members statewide with twenty-seven active local units. The SCFRW is divided into six districts according to the congressional districts. Unit clubs participate in local, state and national campaigns.
A History of the South Carolina Federation of Republican Women
The South Carolina Federation of Republican Women (SCFRW) was founded in 1961, and 2008 marks our 47th year of continued service in the political arena.
The tireless efforts of Mrs. Connie Armitage and Mrs. Pat Barnes in 1960 and 1961 laid the foundation for the vibrant and productive SCFRW of today. The SCFRW is comprised of about 1,200 members statewide with 27 active local units. It was through the dedicated efforts of the hundreds of women who came before who have produced the energetic and enthusiastic membership of 2008.
The purpose of the organization, as set forth in bylaws drawn up in 1961, have remained virtually unchanged. Then, as now, the SCFRW is in accord with the NFRW bylaws and guidelines:
- To promote an informed public through political educational activity
- To increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government
- To facilitate cooperation between National and state federations
- To foster loyalty to the Republican Party and to promote its principles
- To support objectives and policies of the Republican National Committee
- To work for the election of the Republican Party nominees
The SCFRW is divided into six districts according to the Congressional districts. Unit clubs participate in local, state and national campaigns.
Members raise funds and lobby for legislation on various issues. Community service is provided through avenues that each local unit selects in their immediate area.
Federated Republican Women serve their communities, their state and their nation in elected and appointed positions throughout the various levels of government.
